CRI’s Director Birgit Munck-Kampmann, is a member of the expert panel that will judge innovative ideas entered for the first FDB Green Idea Prize. On the 2 May 2011, FDB, the Fællesforeningen for Danmarks Brugsforeninger (the Joint Association of Danish Consumer Cooperatives) launched its Green Idea Prize in an effort to get sustainability and innovation experts, researchers, product developers and other stakeholders to think creatively about how to positively improve the supermarket’s effect on the environment. The competition will award 100,000 DKK to an entrant that can submit the best idea that suggests innovative ways of decoupling the consumer and grocery industry from pollution and overuse of natural resources. Ideas can be in any area along the value chain related to the shopping process; whether through products, packaging, transport, shop design, etc, that can contribute towards making consumption and the purchase of groceries more sustainable. Green Idea Prize Link (in Danish):  Created in 1884 and currently with 1.7 million members, the FDB focuses on core areas including health, the environment, the climate and ethical trading.
